We alert you today to a single mother that needs help. We are closely connected to her through one of our local church partners, and she lost her job in May to layoffs. She has a stable work history, and the government unemployment safety net has failed her. She is working with the unemployment office to figure out why she is not receiving benefits but seems to be going in circles. She is applying for new positions all day every day and is entirely out of money. She needs $800 for her rent and $500 for her monthly utilities and regular bills. We would also like to provide her with $500 for gas and operating funds until she can secure full-time employment. She has obtained a small part-time job, and we are working with her directly to provide her with employment connections as well as food and other supplies.
