We alert you today to a young single mom of a 2-year-old girl who was involved in a serious vehicle accident. She had a seizure while driving. Her car ran off the road, hit an embankment, flew 50 yards in the air, clipped a power pole, and landed upside down. She had to be pulled out of the vehicle and has little memory of the accident. She suffered a fractured sternum, two crushed vertebrae, a fractured wrist, an injured knee, and contusions across her body. Doctors are saying her recovery will take at least two months, and she will not be able to work until January at the earliest. We want to provide $3,500 in rent assistance and construction costs to modify her apartment for handicapped access during her recovery.
