Recently, he began suffering from debilitating asthma-like symptoms and was admitted to the hospital. Doctors have not been able to diagnose him. While in the hospital, he developed sores in his mouth and tongue that prevented him from eating, and he lost over forty pounds. He is now on a feeding tube and waiting for further test results.

His wife works full-time as a nurse and is taking extra shifts, but she cannot make ends meet on her own. His employer does not provide disability benefits, and he has exhausted his paid time off.
