Need 23.22 – Family Loses Son After Being On Life Support
We alert you today to a hurting family that just lost their 31-year-old son. Two weeks ago, they found him unconscious, and not breathing, on the floor of their family home. They conducted CPR and fought to save his life. After being on life support for two weeks, doctors informed the family that he was brain dead. The cause of his death is still unclear, but they have ruled out a drug overdose. He leaves behind two children (11 and 9). The memorial service is on Palm Sunday.
His father is a firefighter who suffered a brain bleed in December. After making it out of the ICU, the father is now wheelchair-bound and unable to work. His mother worked full-time for a grocery store chain. She recently missed a lot of work while her son was on life support, and her employer let her go. The mother is now caring for her grandchildren and for her disabled husband. Based on her solid work history, I am confident that she will gain new employment very soon.
She has provided for the family with her $2,000/month earnings. However, she has not worked in three weeks and they have incurred additional expenses. We would like to provide one month’s pay and an additional $1,000 to help the family through this devastating time. The total need is $3,000.
