We alert you today to a 36-year-old man in need of a wheelchair ramp after having his leg amputated at the knee on May 1st. He has suffered from neuropathy in his right leg since his mid-twenties. At the age of 29, he suffered a major heart attack that caused decreased blood flow to his right leg. The doctor’s effort to save his leg included twelve surgeries over the next several years. Two weeks ago, they had no choice but to amputate his leg at the knee. He earned his living as a delivery driver but is now facing an uncertain financial future. He does not have the funds for a wheelchair ramp but must have it to access his home. The total cost of the ramp is $3,500. We have already raised $500 from another source and would like to raise as much as we can toward the remaining cost of $3,000.
