We alert you today to a single mom with a very sick boy who has done an incredible job getting him the help he needs while supporting herself and him. Last year, her mom was diagnosed with dementia, so on her bad days, she can not be alone. She decided to move her mom and dad in with her so that she could help with her mom and her father could help with his grandson. The parents also help with about 30% of the bills. This has been a perfect arrangement, and things have been stable. However, the mom has been recently diagnosed with a cyst on her ovary and will be going in for a procedure today that will lead to surgery. She will be out of work for 3-4 weeks, and short-term disability will pay her 60% after the first week. This family will experience a $1,300 shortfall on their monthly bills. We want to help them by bridging this financial gap to get them through the surgery recovery period when the mother can return to work.
