We alert you today to a most incredible family. If you didn’t know their story, you would think everything in their life was going perfectly. You would see a husband and father with a stable job at a private school who takes on additional side jobs as a handyman because of his skills and passion. You would see a wife and mother who homeschools the 3 older daughters while caring for the 2 year old. You would see an active and connected family at church, who play games together, enjoy each other’s company, and serve in the community. You would never know they lost their first son at 3 weeks old to complications with birth defects, and that their 6-year-old is having open heart surgery this week. Because they love their children and want the best for them, the father has to work side jobs so that the mother can remain home with the girls. However, the father is using his paid time off to be with his daughter during surgery and for her week’s stay in the hospital afterwards. He will also use another week of paid leave to bring her home and help around the house while she begins her recovery. He will not be doing any of his side jobs during those two weeks, either, causing them to miss out on $ 1,200 of income that they need. We want to gift them the $1200 of lost income to encourage him to be home with family.
