Need 25.60 – 29-Year-Old Single Mother of 4 In Need
We are starting the week off by helping a 29-year-old single mother of four (8, 6, 5, 3) who is being forced out of her apartment. Last year she made the difficult decision to leave her physically abusive husband and the father of their children. She took all of her savings and moved with her children into an 800-square-foot, 2-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment. She works full-time (3:30 pm – 11:30 pm) for a national law firm and has been providing for herself and her children without the support of the children’s father. Recently, her landlord informed her that he will not be renewing her lease because he plans to remodel her apartment, allowing him to raise the rent. This has put her in a tough spot as she does not have the money for the moving expenses to a new place. We have been tracking with her for several weeks as she navigates this challenge. She let us know on Friday of last week that she has been accepted for a new apartment, but needs help with the security deposit and some of the moving expenses, and she needs to commit by this Wednesday. The new apartment fits her budget, and we want to help her secure it for her and her children. She needs $2,300 to move into the new apartment, and we are confident that she will be able to sustain herself going forward.
