We alert you today to a grandmother who is caring for her three grandchildren (13,15,17) as their mother serves time in prison for drug offenses. They are currently staying in a motel, but are close to closing on a mobile home that will provide them with more stable housing. The 13-year-old grandchild has been battling cancer (brain tumor) that is now in remission, but as you can imagine, it has caused additional stress on the family. Earlier this month, she was forced to deal with a car repair issue that cost her $2,000, essentially all she had to her name. She had to have a car for work and to make sure the children got to school. She now needs help with 10 days of motel rent ($800) until she gets paid again. They have nowhere else to go, and we want to help her through this trial as she continues to work and provide for herself and her grandchildren.
