Need 26.06 – 3-Year-Old Undergoing Bone Marrow Transplant
We alert you today to a single mother of 3-year-old twins who needs support as her child undergoes a bone marrow transplant. She works full-time for a national insurance company and has a strong history of providing for herself and her two children. As you can imagine, any bone marrow transplant is a major challenge. However, this one is particularly challenging as she has one twin who is receiving the bone marrow transplant, and the donor is the other twin. Adding to the complications is the fact that the donor twin is autistic (level 4- nonverbal). Before getting to the financial need, please take a moment to pray for the children and their mother.
The twin receiving the transplant will be hospitalized for at least three months. This will require the mother to miss work and use FMLA. She will have some benefit income, but she will have a significant monthly budget shortfall. She is accessing all the savings she can, but still needs some support while her child recovers before she can return to work. We want to help her navigate this budget shortfall over the next 90 days by providing $5,000 of financial support.
