Need 26.53 – Pregnant Mother Working Toward Self-Sufficiency

We are working today to help a 35-year-old pregnant single mother who, in March, left an abusive relationship with her three young children (1,4,8) while pregnant. She spent the following few months in a shelter until May, when she secured permanent housing. She continued to make solid progress until she was forced on bed rest to protect her and her unborn child. She has worked the same warehouse job for more than three years, and she is working full-time now. The challenge is that the bed rest period has put her partially behind on her rent, and she may be in danger of losing her apartment. Her employer has a generous maternity plan and childcare for the baby, so she’ll be able to sustain her family moving forward. We want to help her keep a safe home for her three children and pay $900 towards her rent to bring her current and stabilize her housing.
