Story
Good Afternoon.
We alert you today of a 60 year old woman in need. She and her husband have been members of one of our church partners for over 30 years. They have raised two children and have many grandchildren. This woman and her husband served their family faithfully for many years and they were looking forward to their retirement years with the children all grown and out of the house.
Three or so years ago the husband began having issues with his memory. The memory issue advanced to confusion over time and with his family’s help he began searching for the source of the issues. They met with many doctors and, at this point, he has been diagnosed with severe dementia. The best way to describe this illness is that this, once very successful man, is now trapped in his own mind. He has moments when he seems to understand what is going on, but many other moments he seems completely unaware. He has no real ability to communicate and often acts erratically.
The wife has continued working and has been forced to leave him unattended in order to insure that she can provide for the two of them during this trying time. She works 10 miles from their home and on multiple occasions he has left their home and walked all the way to where she works. Obviously this is very dangerous for him and threatening to her employment. She works 40 plus hours per week and as you can imagine she has begun searching for care options.
During this difficult time she has run into car trouble. The water pump and thermostat housing has failed and she has been forced to place her car in to be repaired. She simply must have transportation and has no ability to pay for the repairs.
She needs help.
We have an area expert auto mechanic ready to do the work and we pray that we can help this local church partner provide her some relief.
*As always 100% of your donation is tax deductible and 100% of your money, less the PayPal fees, will be applied to this specific need. You should also know that the relief will be delivered by the local church partner, not One Need.
