Be Weak.

Be Weak.

So much of our life is spent in process. In fact, the reality is that most of our lives are lived while on our way to something. The normal day is not a day that we reach a goal or have a break through. The normal day is a day that we are taking one more step in a journey towards a goal or towards a breakthrough. It is easy to relate this topic to some physical goal you have set for yourself or your family. It might be a diet, budget, or educational goal you have set for yourself. However, I encourage you to ignore those examples today when thinking about this idea. Instead, I want you to think about a spiritual area in your life that you have been battling. Anger, Lust, Pride and Low Self Esteem are just a few of the sins that I battle every single day. God has brought me a long way in all of these areas, but to say that I have reached any sort of “finish line” would be crazy. The truth is that I will be “in process” or “on journey” in all of these areas for the rest of my life. For me, to struggle spiritually is the main theme in my entire life. Many days I feel like a clean man in very dirty clothes. If you can relate, let me tell you something that has helped me in a huge way.

There is no getting out of this struggle. That is right…we are human whether we like it or not but there is really good news to believers. It is not up to us. We can not win this ourselves. You may ask, how is this good news? It is good news because, in Christ, we have already won. Therefore, we can rest in our weakness because our weakness is where our God shows up for us.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (ESV) But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

In Christ,
