Story
We alert you this Friday of a very serious and somewhat urgent need. We are working to support one of our local partners as they attempt to stabilize a very sad situation. The mother and her husband have been in recovery from opioid addiction. The father works two jobs. He is a welder by day and a server at a local chain restaurant at night. He has remained sober for some time. However, his wife and the mother of their soon-to-be-born daughter, has relapsed. She did not want to tell the husband and began shoplifting to feed her addiction.
She was caught and arrested for shoplifting a few days ago. The father and husband bailed her out and turned to our local partner to get help and recovery services. Our partner is working directly with this young couple and have begun the recovery treatment.
The issue is that the husband spent all of his money that he earns at his two jobs to bail her out and get her into a recovery program. We want this baby girl, Savannah, to be born healthy and we want this mother to recover from her addiction. They are currently at risk of not having a home to stay in as of Monday because he has no money to pay the rent.
We would like to help them with one month’s rent and some food for the month while he recovers financially and she begins treatment for her addiction.
*As always 100% of your donation is tax deductible and 100% of your money, less the PayPal fees, will be applied to this specific need. You should also know that the relief will be delivered by the local partner, not One Need.
