Story
We alert you today of a 66 year old widow that is dealing with a Social Security issue. She worked for Delta Airlines for 35 years and retired. She lost her husband 3 years ago from a stroke and was forced to leave Atlanta, GA and move to Washington, DC for work. She worked in DC for 3 years and lost her job as the kids she was a nanny for began attending school.
She moved back to Atlanta and has secured more part-time work to supplement her retirement income. However, she has run into an issue with her social security check. They have moved her pay date from the 1st of the month to the 15th of the month. She was already living paycheck-to-paycheck and along with the lapse in employment she is constantly behind on her rent and other bills. Being late is creating huge late fees and totally killing her already tight budget.
She is a very dedicated worker and has just run into some issues trying to make it on her own. We do not want this to continue to snowball. She needs a cash injection into her budget to correct the lingering shortfall and we are confident that she will be stable after the assistance. We would like to pay her rent for the month of April.
