Story
We hope your week is off to a great start!
We alert you today of a homeless family that has secured a place to live. We have been working with this family since late August to find stable housing and we are happy to report that they have found a place to live.
When we met this family they were “squatting” in an abandoned apartment. The mother has Multiple Sclerosis and has had a hard time working. The father ran into some employment issues, and soon after they found themselves evicted from their apartment and homeless. The remarkable thing is that the children are doing really well in school and have thrived academically while their home life has been so unstable.
The father has had stable employment for some time, but due to the eviction it has been very difficult for them to be accepted as renters. Last week they located a place in the same school district for their children with a landlord that is willing to work with them.
They are in need of first month’s rent and security deposit. We would like to help them secure this new place.
