Story

We alert you today of a family of 4 that is regaining stability after becoming homeless last summer. The father was laid off from his job last year and after running though all of their savings, the family was forced to be homeless. Our local partner was called about the family when their car broke down in a grocery store parking lot. It was soon discovered that the family has been living in their car for quite some time and now this was no longer an option. So before being connected with our local partner, the couple was literally stranded in a parking lot with their 5 year old special needs son and 4 year old daughter.

This is where the story takes a turn for the better….

Through working with our local partner closely the family has began to regain some stability. Here is what they have been able to accomplish up to this point:

– They have secured a motel for 3 weeks.
– Connected their special needs son with social workers to give him access to services though the school.
– The father has secured a new job in a warehouse.
– The mother is actively seeking employment.

Now that the father has secured employment, they really need the car repaired so that he can get to work. We would like to help them get the car repaired. We have thought though all options with the car and have worked closely with our area expert in auto repair. The repairs are the best decision and the car will be dependable following this work.
