We alert you today of a 68 year old retired man in need of surgery. He spends his retirement time volunteering faithfully at two different food ministries. We were made aware of this need by a church partner that supports one of the food ministries he serves. He did not approach us with his need but because of the severity of the need the church partner encouraged him to seek help.
He is slowly losing the use of his hand due to Squamous Cell Carcinoma on the back of his hand. At first it appeared as a sunspot and since has developed into a large enough area to impact his wrist mobility.
He has not had it cared for due to insurance restriction and lack of funds. He is on a fixed income and only has Medicare Part A- Hospitalization. This is an outpatient procedure so it falls under his insurance coverage through his spouse’s employer. She works in the lunch room of a county middle school.
Her insurance requires a deductible and then co-payment. The result is that he has forgone care due to finances and has chosen to deal with he consequence rather than burden others with the problem.
We have worked with the doctors office and the total cost of the surgery is $2200. We would like to help him get the outpatient surgery so that he can go back to serving at the food ministries for years to come.
*As always 100% of your donation is tax deductible and 100% of your money, less the PayPal fees, will be applied to this specific need. You should also know that the relief will be delivered by the local church partner, not One Need.
