Story
We alert you today of a young married couple that is dealing with a housing issue. They are both working hard through college without taking on loans, and the husband is in his final semester. During their college years, they have lived in a lower income area to make it all work. Last month their lease was up, and they got the opportunity to move to a better area for the same monthly rent. They completed their lease agreement and moved out with the understanding that their new apartment would be ready the following week. After they vacated their old apartment, they learned what they thought would be a three-day gap in residence was going to be a much more significant gap. There was an issue and with the new residence and their move-in date is now next month. This couple is active in one of our local church partners and has never had a housing issue before. Their budget for rent is $750 per month, and both the old place and the new place are in their rental budget. The problem is that they do not have any family and are being forced to stay in an expensive pay by the week motel. The rent for the motel is double their current housing budget. Would like to help them get through this time and give them the difference between their regular monthly rental expense an the more expensive motel rent.
