Story
We alert you of a 53 year old mother of a 21 year old son that is addicted to heroin.
He has been using for 3 years and now has been sober for 1 month. He has had other periods of sobriety only to fall back into active addiction. We have worked with and connected her to area experts in heroin recovery and she has agreed to attend regular support meetings for family with addicted loved ones. She has come to the point that she understands no matter how much she ruins her finances trying to help him, financial support is not going to help him get or stay sober. He has to do it.
As a result of supporting him to get sober, she has neglected her own bills. She is now in danger of losing her car and does not have a way to pay her electric bill. We would like to help her get straight as she has a fine history of being stable. The son has had a steady job for 3 weeks now, but we do not want to count on him paying her back at this point.
