We alert you today to a single mother, of a 6-year-old daughter, that is going through a divorce after ten years of marriage. She gave her life to Christ two years ago. Her husband was the primary financial provider and filled for divorce. He is not a believer, and she is heartbroken. She has secured employment and a place to live for her and her daughter. The cost of the divorce has been too much for her, and she has fallen two months behind on her rent. We are working with her through our local church partner, and she has met with a financial counselor and will be meeting with them weekly going forward. A local organization has paid one month of her rent. I have worked directly with the financial counselor, and we believe that if her rent is current, she will be able to stick to her budget and provide for her and her daughter going forward. Also, their divorce is finalizing soon, and she will begin getting child support. We want to give her some relief during this hard time and get her rent current. She owes $824.
