Need 20.27 – Single Mother of 2 Needs Financial Bridge To C.A.R.E.S. Act Relief
We alert you today to a single mother that needs a financial bridge until the C.A.R.E.S. Act funding arrives. She moved away from her hometown of New York with her two sons a few years ago over concerns about violence. Those concerns became a reality when her 48-year-old brother was killed in early March of this year. She used her savings to help the family and attend the funeral in New York. She returned home to work, and her hours were reduced that same week due to the shutdown. She had many of her regular monthly bills on autopay, and she was unable to stop the withdraws in time to salvage any cashflow. As a result, she overdrew her account by $1,600. Today her reduced paycheck hit, and she is now $700 overdrawn and two weeks away from another paycheck. She is eligible for the stimulus money, and her employer has filed for her unemployment/reduced hours relief. She will be ok when all that relief arrives. For now, we want to help her get even in her bank account and give her an additional $500 to make it to the C.A.R.E.S. Act relief.
