We alert you today to a need that has been in the national news over the past ten days. On March 16th, a series of shootings took place at three Asian spas in Metro Atlanta. Eight people were killed that day, and the suspect is in custody. Our prayers are with all of the victims and their families. We learned that one of the victims was a member of one of our local church partners. She was a devoted wife and mother to a 13-year-old son and an 8-month-old daughter. She and her husband got a sitter that day and decided to get a couples massage and spend the rest of the day together without kids. Shortly after they arrived, she was gunned down while the husband remained unharmed. She leaves behind her husband and their two children. Our local church partner is working with a reputable attorney and is creating a trust fund for the children. They have already donated a little over $22,000. We want to allow you the opportunity to come alongside them in this effort. As always, 100% of the money will go directly to the need, and we will send you a giving statement at the end of the year for your taxes. All funds raised will be added to our local church partner’s efforts. The current plan is for each child to receive funds upon their 18th birthdays. I will set the goal to match the $22,000 already raised and leave this Need Alert open until the close of business Monday.
