Need 21.41 – Father Is Injured While Changing A Flat Tire On His Way To Work
Today, we alert you to a father of a family of five who suffered an injury last month. He and his family are members of one of our local church partners. He is the sole provider for his wife and three children (11,14,17). On his way to work last month, one of the tires on his truck went flat. He pulled over to change the tire, and when he picked up the flat tire, he suffered a complete tear of the biceps muscle in one arm. He has not been able to work since the injury on July 6th.
He underwent surgery to repair the torn muscle on July 22nd and is now in recovery. He is on track to return to work by the middle of August. As a contract worker, he does not have access to paid time off or short-term disability. Because of this injury, the family is missing a full month’s paycheck, and they do not have any savings to fall back on. Their total bills for the month, including groceries, come to $1,975. We want to help them cover one month of expenses.
