Need 22.62 – Single Mother Fleeing Domestic Violence
We alert you today to a single mother of two girls (13,11) currently fleeing domestic violence. She was in the relationship for eight years and endured abuse for most of those years. On Labor Day weekend, the abuse escalated into extreme physical violence. Much of their home was destroyed. The police intervened, providing her and the children with protection through a TPO (Temporary Protective Order). Unfortunately, she had to leave the home within two hours. They’ve been living in a motel ever since the incident occurred.
The mom is very hard-working, having continued her full-time job throughout this ordeal. She and the girls are left with only what will fit in the trunk of their car. She has found an apartment that works within her budget. She can cover all the upfront costs and move-in fees. She only needs the first month’s rent and a few moving expenses by the 28th of October to get the apartment. We are confident they will be stable going forward, and we want to make sure they secure this new housing.
