Need 23.34 – Mother of 4 Suffers Brutal Beating and Home Arson

We alert you today to a woman who was brutally attacked by her boyfriend in early January of this year. He beat her on the head with a hammer, and then he tried to rip her mouth open with his hands. After he thought she was dead, he set the home on fire and fled the scene. Authorities pursued him for six days before they finally arrested him. She was hospitalized and received 12 staples in her head, 10 in her ear, and 4 in her mouth. Her four children (18, 12, 9, 6) were physically unharmed, but they all witnessed the attack. They are in trauma therapy through their local school system.

Several organizations provided short-term housing for her and her children. She has secured new housing, but the family is in need of beds and basic furnishings. We want to give them a $3,000 budget to cover their home furnishing needs.

While speaking with her, it was obvious that she was struggling to move beyond the brutal attack. She told me, “I still see him every time I close my eyes.” She has not received formal counseling. So, in addition to the home furnishings, we would like to provide her with 20 trauma therapy sessions at $75/hour. The total need is $4,500. Let’s rally around this mom and her children with a tangible expression of Christ-like love.
