Need 23.50 – Emergency Housing Need For Hard-working Family
We alert you today to a hard-working family of six facing eviction due to a series of unfortunate events and bad timing. The father works as a truck driver and reports to work each night at midnight. A month ago, while at a traffic light on his way to work, he was struck by a hit-and-run drunk driver. The car was his only way to get to work, and the repair cost $2,100. A few weeks later, lightning struck their apartment and fried anything plugged into an outlet. Unfortunately, his wife was holding a charging cell phone at the exact moment of the lightning strike. She was injured and required hospital care.
This family has one month left on their current lease. Their landlord is raising the rent to an amount that is out of their budget. These recent incidents have set them back. They are now in danger of eviction which would hinder their ability to move. They need help covering last month’s rent and late fees on their current apartment. We want to provide a bridge to help them avoid eviction and put them on a sustainable path moving forward. They need $2,600 by Monday morning at 9:00 am to stop the eviction process and open up the possibility of moving into a new apartment.
