Need 23.53 – Single Mother of Two Young Children Leaving Abusive Relationship
Today we alert you to a single mother of two small children (4, 3) who is leaving an abusive relationship. She has asked for financial help several times in the last two years. The cause of her financial distress stemmed from a pattern of seeking affection from her children’s abusive and neglectful father. As a result, we had no alternative but to tell her “no” each time, while encouraging her, in love, to start making better choices.
She submitted another need this week, and I was thankful to hear how God has been moving in her life. She broke free from the abusive relationship and has made a connection with her local church through a caring family member. She has a good-paying job where she was recently promoted. She needs help with childcare for two weeks since she is now living alone. Without some help, she will most likely lose her position with the company. The daycare expense for her two children is $800. We also want to give her 10 counseling sessions with our OneNeed Mental Health Team ($750). Between her involvement in a local church, some counseling support, and a little help with child care, we have great anticipation that she will continue to make healthy decisions in this new direction.
