Need 23.89 – Single Woman Caring For Sick Mother
We alert you to a young single woman caring for her 50-year-old mother whose health has failed. She and her mother lived in the same apartment complex. On June 2nd, her mother suffered cardiac arrest. She was rushed to the hospital and has been hospitalized ever since. She suffered brain damage and is now on a feeding tube. The mother can no longer do her job as a manager at a RaceTrac gas station. The daughter released her mother’s apartment and moved everything into her own apartment. She performed well as a payroll professional at a concrete company but ultimately lost her job when she missed too much work caring for her mother.
The hospital is prepared to release the mother because her condition will not improve. Using a home health service is the only viable option for continuing care. Medicaid will ultimately cover the expense, but there will be a process to establish service. The daughter is applying for new employment in preparation for when her mother starts receiving home care. She has fallen behind financially and needs help making her October and November rent payments. She is also battling anxiety and depression and needs counseling. We want to provide her with ten sessions of grief and trauma counseling. The need is $3,000 to cover two months’ rent and $750 for counseling sessions.
