Need 24.06 – 46-Year-Old Husband, Father, Cancer Survivor Needs Help

We alert you today to a hard-working husband and father of four teenage children who needs financial assistance. He spent his entire career working in baseball in various roles, most recently as a project manager for a major league team. He was abruptly let go in October by the team’s new leadership, who laid off most of the staff and brought in their own people. He was partially prepared financially. Five years ago, he was diagnosed with rectal cancer and could not work for a year. After two more years of treatment, he was declared cancer-free. Since then, he has worked his way out of debt and has accumulated some savings. Since being laid off in October, he’s worked individual coaching jobs and other odd jobs to stretch the savings, but it hasn’t been enough. Because of his work history and experience, he was hired by Major League Baseball but the job doesn’t begin until February 1st with the start of the new season. We want to help him catch up on utilities and help him pay February rent ($2,600). We believe he will be fine going forward after receiving his first paycheck at the end of February.
