Today, we alert you to a newly single mother of two children needing car repairs. Last year, her marriage fell apart, and she recently finalized her divorce. She was a stay-at-home mom when she was married and now provides for herself and her children as a middle school teacher. She also recently lost her father, which required significant travel and added expense. She is plugged in at her local church and participates in a divorce care group, financial counseling, and a local food pantry. She is making all the right moves and is on her way to stabilizing herself. She drives a 10-year-old car that fits her budget but needs significant repairs. We are working with a local mechanic who is confident that after the repairs, the vehicle will be reliable for her. However, the $2,685 cost of the repairs is beyond her capabilities. The mechanic knows her story and has offered to absorb 1/3 of the repair costs. We want to help her along by helping with as much of the remaining costs for the repairs. We need $1,798 to help get her car repaired.
