We alert you today to an 85-year-old woman who suffered from a massive stroke three weeks ago. She lives by herself and is fortunate to have a much younger, faithful friend of over 10 years who is helping her through this difficult time. Her friend recently gained power of attorney to help her pay bills while she recovers. Currently, the woman is in a nursing home that is providing stroke recovery rehab services. Her friend just learned of a bill from the facility due next week, which she must pay, or she will have to leave the facility prematurely. The woman’s monthly disability check will cover the bill, but nothing will be left to cover her monthly expenses. These include her lot rent, utilities, and phone bill, which total $700 for December. Her friend is working on helping her get a plan for ongoing care and is confident that she will be financially okay going forward. We want to cover her December bills and provide her friend time to implement the ongoing care plan.
