Need 25.16 – Single Mother Fired Due to Childcare

Today, we alert you to a single mother of three who was fired from her job due to childcare challenges. She worked for the same company for the past two years and has provided for herself and her children while also volunteering in the childcare ministry at her home church on Sundays. Last month, the area of the country she lives in was hit by a very rare snow storm. As is the protocol, her employer demanded that she stay at work through the night. She explained that she could not stay overnight as she has grade school children and they can not stay home overnight alone. The children attend an after-school childcare program and must be picked up by 6 p.m. She assured the company that she would return to work the following morning, but was immediately suspended for three days. When she returned to work, she was let go. She secured new employment within two weeks but is now struggling to pay her rent with the lapse in income. She needs $2,100 to cover her rent. We want to help her with her rent this month as she recovers from he job loss.
