We alert you today of a 63-year-old widow who lost her husband and best friend of 30 years to cancer in May 2023. She is also the caregiver to her 26-year-old son, who was diagnosed at the age of 18 with schizophrenia. The last year and a half have been challenging since losing her husband. She had a heart attack, suffers from double carpel tunnel, and various other health problems, causing her to no longer be able to work a full-time job but works as a receptionist to supplement the household income. When her husband was alive, he handled much of the maintenance in the home himself and had begun repairing the bathrooms in their mobile home when he became ill and could not complete the job. Since his death, a toilet leak has caused the floors to rot, exposing the ground underneath he mobile home. She is in serious need of bathroom repairs. In addition to income from her part-time position, she receives a spousal pension and disability for herself and her son, but all her sources of income are only enough to make ends meet each month. She has secured a quote for a trusted local contractor but does not have the $3,300 needed for the repairs. We want to provide her with the funds to repair her bathroom.
