A month later, in October, he thought he was having a stroke, which led to a two-and-a-half-week hospital stay. After being released, it was another week of recovery before he could return to work. This unexpected time spent in the hospital, recovery time, and follow-up doctor appointments were unpaid time off because he had no PTO left. The loss of income during this time has thrown him into a spiral of paying rent late, with fees attached, and a constant threat of eviction. The apartment management staff is working with him, but he desperately wants to break this cycle. His rent is $1350 per month. He owes $1153 and can pay $800 but needs help with $535 to stop eviction. We want to help him with the needed $535 so that he will be back on track for May.
