We alert you today of a hardworking single Father of a 12-year-old who recently became homeless. His landlord began having personal issues and needed to move into the house that the father was renting. Instead of working with him to end the lease, the landlord proceeded with several illegal activities to cause them to move out. The landlord was arrested, but the father and child still needed to vacate the home. Now, he and his son have been living in a hotel while he finds new housing. He has located an apartment and is hoping to be approved and move in next week, but his funds are dwindling with the cost of the hotel. He has been paying about $500/week, whereas his rent had been $800-900/month. He lost his wife last year in May and has no other family living. He is asking that we pay the hotel for the next two weeks while he prepares to move into a new apartment. He has been working consistently, was not late with any bills, and has been blindsided by this. We want to give him $1,000 to cover the next two weeks’ hotel costs.
