Need 25.48 – Special Needs Roommates In Need
We alert you today to two special needs adult roommates who are in need. One of the roommates suffered a brain injury as a baby and was cared for by her mother. Two years ago, her mother passed away unexpectedly. Her mother’s friend moved in with her to help take care of her after her mother passed, even though she also has special needs and suffers from Parkinson’s disease and requires oxygen support. Recently, there has been a clerical issue with the daughter’s Social Security. It’s a little detailed to explain, but it stems from her benefits being tied to her father, who passed away, and how they were being passed through her mother for many years. When her mother passed away, nothing immediately happened, but one day the benefits just stopped. They have resolved the issue, but it is taking time, and they need $1,200 to cover their rent and avoid eviction. We want to take the housing pressure off of them as the issue is resolved, and they should be sustainable going forward.
