We are alerting you today to a single mother of three boys with a strong history of providing for her family. In early February, she had shoulder surgery that she had been putting off for some time. She was out of work for nearly two months. During this time, she decided it was necessary to move as the living conditions in her rented home had deteriorated to the point where untreated mold was affecting the family’s health and welfare. She is now settled and back to work. She got some help from her employer’s short-term disability benefit during her recovery, which replaced a small portion of her income. But she has been unable to fully recover from the income interruption and the added expense of the move. She currently owes rent for June and July and is facing eviction. She has part of it, and we want to help her with the shortfall. We are confident this will stabilize her, and she will be good going forward.
