We are working to provide housing support to a hard-working single mother of seven children (18-12 age range). Last year, she was wrongfully evicted from her home. She fought back in the courts and eventually won, but the result of the wrongful eviction forced her and her seven children into the extended stay motel system. In December of last year, she was working two full-time jobs and a part-time job. Since then, the company she works for has lost two full-time contracts, and she has been able to work only a part-time job for the past two months. The father ot the children abandoned all of them several years ago and is nowhere to be found. She has burned through all of her savings but is very close to landing another full-time position. When she secures the new full-time position, she should be able to work her way out of the motel system, as she no longer has an eviction on her record after winning in court. She needs help staying in her extended stay for two more weeks as her employment stabilizes. We want to help her through this tough time and support her with $800 in motel fees for the next two weeks.
