We are working today to help a hard-working medical assistant work through recovery from knee surgery. She is recently divorced and now a single mother to her 14-year-old son. She has been able to hold things together, providing for her and her son since the divorce, but this recent medical event has jeopardized their housing. Due to the nature of her work, she had to have the surgery, but at the same time, being recently divorced, she was in no financial position to undergo the needed surgery. She attends church at one of our local church partners and has been, no pun intended, walking in faith through this process. She is finishing up her recovery and returning to work next week. However, she needs $2,100 to pay her October rent, or she will lose their apartment. We are confident that if we give her this financial support, she will be able to sustain herself going forward. We want to help her pay her rent and secure their housing as she returns to work.
