We alert you today to a family of four in need as their child undergoes surgery. Both of the children (11,13) suffer from medical issues and require special care. The mother cares for the children while the father works as an English teacher at a local high school. At the end of this month, their 11-year-old son will undergo surgery to address his Sacral Agenesis in the hope of improving his quality of life as well as lowering the level of daily care he needs as he grows. The father has been forced out of work many times for their children’s health challenges and lacks any paid time off work. He needs to miss a week of work for the surgery to help care for their children and support the mother. The challenge is that they do not have any budgetary margin right now and will lose $1,100 due to his time off work. This will create a shortfall they can not afford. We want to support them with $1,100 as they continue to navigate these challenges.
