Story
We alert you today of a recently single mother of two children. On top of being heartbroken, she is now uncovering the financial situation the father has left her and the children in as a result of his gambling addiction. She has always worked full time and worked very hard, and now she finds herself behind on most of her bills. She is determined to get things under control, and we agree with her that she will make this work. A few weeks ago a repossession company showed up and took her washer and dryer. The ex-husband had leased them and then not continued the payments. If you are a parent, you understand the amount of time it takes to do laundry. I know most of us with more than one child are doing at least one and sometimes two loads per day. When they came and took her washer and dryer, it was a real gut punch. She is working hard and having to load up the kids and go to the laundromat is not the end of the world, but we would like to help her as she digs out of this financial hole.
As always, we are working with a local church partner, and we have identified a solution to get her a new basic washer and dryer delivered and set up for $670. We would like to help her along by taking this issue off her plate.
