Story
We alert you of a young family of four that is in need of help financially. They are actively involved with one of our local church partners and have been dealing with major health issues with their 1-year-old son since his birth. Recently, they incurred the expense of a trip from the Atlanta area to Washington, DC to see a specialist for their child’s illness.
After the consultations and testing for five days there, they are taking the specialist’s advice and having their infant’s kidney removed on June 19th. All of these expenses along with time off work have really hurt them financially and now they are going into surgery. The father is a Sheriff’s Deputy and has used all of his PTO out of a desire to be there for his family, so now he is going to face unpaid leave. Furthermore, the mother has only been able to work part-time due to child care for both children and the medical appointments for the sick child.
This family is in need of assistance for a month. We would like to help them pay some of the bills that they are now behind on due to the unexpected medical travel and time off of work.
