Story
We alert you today of a woman who fled domestic violence last December with her 12 year old son. She is a member of one of our church partners and well known in the church community.
Last month her 23 year old car finally gave out for the last time. She has been sustaining her monthly expenses and keeping a budget since leaving the violence, but she was not yet prepared for something like this. Although she knew it could happen she simply has not had enough time to get ready for a financial hiccup of this magnitude.
She was able to buy a very reasonable economy car, but had to put down $1250 to secure the financing. Her budget is balanced and she can afford the monthly payment going forward. However, the down payment was paid with her rent money. It was a tough spot for her and she chose to get a car to preserve her employment. Then spend the next 30 days working to figure out her rent.
That is where we can come into the picture. We have the opportunity to help her in a huge way and get her back on budget.
We would like to help with her rent and are confident that she will be stable going forward.
