If you are like me, sometimes it is not just enough to be right… the other person has to be wrong! It’s not enough to win, the other person has to lose! Does this hit home to anyone else? I hate that I allow my actions and my thoughts to go there… more often than I would like to admit.

Here are a few verses that have helped me evaluate my heart:

Matthew 5:9
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Proverbs 12:20
Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but counselors of peace have joy.

Romans 14:19
So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.

Romans 12:18
If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.

Having an attitude of “winning at all cost” or reveling in the failure of another is just evil. For me, I have to regularly take inventory of my pride and make sure I am pursing “peace with all men” and building up of others so that I may have joy!
