Story
Good afternoon. We alert you today of a young family in need. Before we get into this story, you should know that all Need Alerts are fully reviewed before you receive them. Every need must originate with a local church partner and still less than 5% of all Need Submissions become Need Alerts. We want you to feel confident that when you receive a Need Alert like this one that we have dug in and worked with the local church partner and the person in need. We know these people, their backgrounds, and others that confirm these needs.
This young family is made up of a mother, father and 1 year old child. The mother is also 4 months pregnant with their second child.
Late last week the family was in Walmart buying groceries. When they got to the register the father went to pull his wallet out to pay. It was at that point that he realized he had lost his wallet and almost his entire paycheck was in it. He went to security while the food for his family sat at the register. They looked everywhere with no luck. The result was that he did not have enough money for food and their rent. They were already operating on a razor thin margin and this event has put them in a financial tailspin. They are now at risk of being evicted from their apartment because they do not have rent money.
We would like to intervene and stabilize their situation. As soon as we have done so we are going to work with them through financial counseling. |
