We are working to help a self-employed, hard-working single mom who spoke with us this week while she is recovering from an appendectomy. Because she is paid only when she works, she cannot cover her full July rent. She had no choice but to go into surgery to have her appendix removed, which meant she would be out of work 3-4 weeks while she recovered. She has insurance that paid the medical expenses. She also has steady work as soon as she has recovered, so she will be fine going forward. We would like her to be able to rest physically and mentally, so we would like to give her $850 to cover the remainder of her rent this month.
