We are working today to help a 61-year-old single woman who suffered a collapsed bowel. She works full-time in environmental services for a hospital, and on February 10th, she underwent emergency surgery. She was then hospitalized for 10 days and unable to work for almost 2 months following while she recovered. She received no income while out of work. She is back to work now and able to pay her monthly bills, including her July rent. However, she is behind on her May and June rent totaling $5,500. We feel she can be stable going forward but needs help with her back rent, as she is at risk of losing her apartment. We want to help her catch up on her back rent.
