We are working to help a young couple in need after the woman suffered cardiac arrest. The couple was traveling out of state last month. On the first night of their trip, the woman suffered a heart attack and fell unconscious. The boyfriend called 911 and administered CPR. First responders were able to stabilize her heart with a defibrillator when they arrived, and she was rushed to the local (out-of-state) hospital. She remained unconscious and in the ICU for the following 17 to 18 days. She regained consciousness, and the doctors kept her in the ICU for another 10 days. She is now home and under the care of her local cardiologist. Miraculously, she has suffered no long-term effects.

Both work in the service industry and understandably have been unable to work for the past month. The boyfriend has returned to work and is doing his best to close the financial gap this unexpected health event has caused. They are $5,500 behind on their monthly bills and will begin addressing the oncoming medical expenses in the next few months. We want to support them as they get back on their feet and help them cover the $5,500 needed to catch up on this month’s bills.
