We alert you today to a young single mother and her 4-year-old son who were involved in a DUI accident when a drunk driver hit the car they were in with their close friend. Tragically, their friend passed away from the accident. Her son was also severely injured in the accident and was in a coma for three weeks. The mother was unable to work during her son’s hospital stay and, as a result, was evicted from their apartment. She returned to work last week. She made new living arrangements with family, but she can’t move in for 6 weeks. They need a bridge to the new living arrangement, and we want to help them with the transition. We want to give her and her recovering son $2,500 in financial support for a safe place to stay for the month, plus food and gas for her car. We are confident that with this support, she will be able to navigate through and recover from this tragic event.
